Heifer at the Solanco Fair in Quarryville, PA Ink and Watercolor by Warren E. Saul (1992). My father and mother would finish their days in the village of Quarryville, Pennsylvania. Their apartment, on the 5th floor of a brand-new retirement home, overlooked a cow pasture and pond. Although the artist's notation says this is a Jersey heifer, I think it is actually a Brown Swiss. What a beautiful animal, and a beautiful drawing.
